If you’re like me, you’re doing nearly every part of your job differently. Since our new normal is meetings held with webcams – how do we hold a successful virtual nonprofit event?
It takes outside-box-thinking – a change agent – to pivot to a virtual nonprofit event. As a change agent you’re willing to take risks, implement new fundraising & new donor engagement strategies, AND use technology to challenge the status quo. No easy task.
To help you, I asked Amy Ludwig, Executive Director, of MOSTe in Los Angeles to allow you to view her recent coaching session. Amy is working hard to keep donors connected and ready to give at their first ever virtual fundraising event.
A special shout out of thanks to Amy Ludwig for allowing me to share her coaching session with you!

Very helpful! THANK YOU!
Patra, Thank you for your comment. I’m a HUGE fan of libraries! Good luck with your event planning.

Lori, thank you for sharing this with us. I have been following you for quite awhile. You are very inspirational. As a small non-profit we are struggling with fund-raising, especially now. Have canceled our 5K and questioning our annual December event. I will certainly share this video with the entire board. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
Lynne,
Please don’t cancel your December event! AND…take your 5k to a virtual event. Your work is important. Always.
Lori
Thank you – that was really helpful and helped me crystallize some of my own thinking regarding options I was going to present to my boss for a watch party we’re working on to help engage our stakeholders since our youth concert series isn’t happening.
Nikole, I’m delighted you found the videos & checklist helpful! Good luck with your live event. Make it fun & let people know you are “learning” to hold these virtual meetings and they’ll be forgiving for whatever happens.
Lori
We did not have an event planned that is suddenly cancelled, but we’re facing some serious shortfalls as we can’t close (essential service), but are *barely* too big for PPP funds. We’ve been kicking around the idea of an online event, and this really inspired me to make it happen. Thanks, Lori!
YES!! You can do this, Rachel! Let me know how it goes. Good luck to you, Lori
